Bloomsbury Festival 2020
'Vision' is the theme of this year's Bloomsbury Festival
We are delighted to support the Festival: although some physical events, including the community arts and science outreach events, had to be postponed, the organisers put together a wonderful programme of online events and outdoor galleries. Much of this will remain available for an extended period to allow everyone time to see it.
If you are in the Bloomsbury area (until mid November) look out for our posters in the outdoor gallery around Brunswick Square and Lansdowne Terrace (WC1N 1DN, see map).
Visual illusions from UCL Institute of Ophthalmology
Professor Andrew Stockman has made a series of videos demonstrating and explaining visual illusions. These will be at the Building Centre ( Store St. WC1E 7BT) between 21 and 23 October, and also online here. You can listen to an interview with Professor Stockman here.
Broadcasts and online events
Moorfields BRC is currently working closely with INSIGHT – the new Health Research Data Hub for Eye Health – to support its public and patient involvement and engagement. INSIGHT launched a new podcast series, ‘Insights into INSIGHT’, at the Bloomsbury Festival, which you can listen to here.
The festival's Seeing and Perceiving Hub was broadcast live on Facebook on Saturday 24 October and included videos showcasing Moorfields BRC and INSIGHT projects and research. Find out more on the Bloomsbury Festival Facebook page or see the links to individual videos below.
