The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 has recognised UCL as the top university in the UK for the quality and impact of its research in medicine, health and life sciences. The success includes major contributions from the Faculty of Brain Sciences, which the Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO) sits within. The NIHR Moorfields BRC has played an important role in this achievement through its support of life-changing research at the IoO.
